The Chair

Dear Dr. Vet,

I am not quite sure what to do. I received a chair from a friend that looks fabulous in my livingroom, matches perfectly. The only problem is, the cats have claimed it to the fullest. To the fullest in the extent that I can no longer sit in it, and it has to have towels on it in order to guard against cat hair.

The cats refuse to leave the chair, foregoing any attempts to sleep with me at night, cuddle on the couch, follow me around the house or otherwise get up off the chair except to eat or do their litter dance. One of the cats, Mr. Poops, is so addicted to being in the chair, he has neglected his coat - and it's become matted and bumpy. The other, Gucky, sees the chair as his outpost to attack me should I get near it or his brother. I have yet to see either of them not on the chair in the past week for more than fifteen minutes.

So, dear Vet, let me know how I can reclaim my furniture from these slothish felines and I will be forever grateful. I don't want to take this joy from them, but I kind of want my chair back.

Sincerely,

Me
