Qype: Efes Cafe in Chicago

Chicago

The reason this gets three instead of two was that the service was really nice and they gave us free tea. I was disappointed that they didn't have pita, but instead this loafy-ish bread with salt and herbs on it. It was okay, but not awesome, kind of dry and weird. It didn't soak up the olive oil very well and was sliced way too thick.

Orderd the Ezme, which I haven't had before and really liked it. Mixture of red peppers, olive oil, lemon and spices that you put on bread or can even eat plain. Dinner was the chicken schwarma...but completely prepared different than other places I've had it. The chicken was minced and infused with herbs, basil, I think even a hint of mint. Side of white rice with tomoato sauce and a very green salad.

I could see myself going back here for an appetizer and a bottle of wine and sitting up on the cushions, but a full blown meal probably will not happen anytime again.
