Qype: Simone's Bar in Chicago

Chicago

Once the bitter taste of a $17 cab ride down here left my palate, I was able to refresh it with the sweet taste of Allagash and wonderful decor. I started out with a cocktail. After ordering a Mojito, the bartender sweetly replied that I was not a Mojito lady and proceeded to make me something extremely tasty and strong that had a hint of ginger, mint, maybe some orange? Whatever it was, quite dangerous and delicious.

I was surprised that i was able to stay in this bar pretty much all evening (usually bars are a starting point for me) pretty content standing around with good friends, and the funky mixes going on in the background. Met some really interesting people, who I am quite positive we would have never crossed paths otherwise had I not been there.

I'd definitely like to make it back down to check out the food and snuggle myself into one of those booths, but more of a "destination" spot for me and only if I have the desire to make it down there again.

Check out my review of Simone's Bar - I am superchristine - on Qype
