Chicago - Eating & Drinking - Restaurants - Japanese & Sushi
I usually get in my sushi rut and always go to the same place (see: Kabuki) so I was delighted when my friend picked out this place. I really enjoy a BYOB sushi place that doesn't well...feel and look like a sushi BYOB place. The decor was sexy, crowd sexier and the rolls were the sexiest.
We went through our fair share of rolls and I honestly can't say which was my favorite. A little odd were the sports-themed rolls, didn't quite fit the above-mentioned sexy decor....but at the same time once you took a bite it didn't really matter!
Tried the Bulls, Fire Dragon, Sox, and Hawks roll (super spicy and awesome!) Also tasted their edamame and miso soup, both excellent. The fish was super fresh and tasty, service was superb considering how busy it was and we made nice with the tourists from Toronto who were quite enamored with the whole BYOB concept. Also got a taste of the Pink Lady...definitelywill hit that up the next time I'm in.
Great place for a casual date, ladies night and even the fam.
