One of my all-time, top-10 favorite albums is being redone. "Paul's Boutique" was my difinitive album on constant repeat between the ages of 14 - 18, bumping it in my '79 Lincoln Continental Mark V through the cornfields of Small Town, Illinois while smoking Marlboro Reds and dreaming of "Getting out of this town." The Beastie Boys set the tone for my musical taste in years to come. They nurtured my love of funky beats and knowing music that makes you smile is the best kind.
The addition of this remastered album is fabulous news, and I have a hunch it's not going to be another "Sounds of Science", which I found a painful and rushed stab to their talents. Hopefully, this time around they'll nail it and make me smile again.
