Qype: Houlihan's in Chicago

Chicago

This place has a serious identity crisis. Is it an Irish pub? Is it a casual dining restaurant? Is it a diner? Mostly, it's a close spot for tourists on Michigan Ave., business lunches where food is not the issue at hand and lost trade show goers who have no idea where to go. I fit into to the "at a late event" and it was closest.

Ordered the rosemary chicken, which turned out to be a tiny piece of grilled chicken with salt and pepper with a rosemary sprig on it. Not exactly what I had in mind. Broccoli side was decent and yes, the mashed potatoes were good (but those are pretty hard to mess up). Salad was wilty...a personal icky pet peeve.

Basically a place based on location for downtown for a quick stop in, I would offer some alternatives to it, but that whole areas isn't really chock full of dining possibilities, so take what you can get if you're stuck in that area.
