Chicago - Eating & Drinking - Restaurants - Creole
Nice brunch spot close to the hood, although inconspicuous, once inside you're greeted by simple decor, nice lighting and relaxed atmosphere. We were there for Saturday morning bunch, bellied up at the bar and partook in some tasty bloody marys and breakfast which I quote, "Definitely not the Golden Nugget." Bonus: Lagunitas Pils (my favorite) on tap.
I was a little disappointed with my first order, which was the Biscuits and Gravy with Prawns, I was not made aware that the gravy wasn't exactly what I was used to as it was more of a thin sausage gravy, not at all what I was looking for in a brunch. But, they were super amicable with changing up my meal (as a courtesy, chose something less expensive and faster to cook.)
Service was nice and was also enjoyable that it wasn't super packed and loud, no wait as we got there early. Overall, nice experience but have a feeling their dinner menu is much better...would like to pop back in for the Cassoulet & glass of wine dinner special sometime.
